Softball Recap: Pike County Central Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Pike County Central lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Floyd Central, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Hawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. Considering the Hawks have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Pike County Central and bumps their season record up to 9-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Floyd Central, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Pike County Central will host Prestonsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks are facing the Blackcats at the right time seeing as the Blackcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Floyd Central, they will head out to face off against Elliott County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
