Beckville is a perfect 3-0 against Ore City since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bearcats will venture away from home to take on the Rebels at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Beckville has four straight wins, Ore City has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Beckville needed a bit of extra time to put away Union Grove. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-17 victory over the Lions. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Bearcats were the better team in the second half.

Beckville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Grayson Hicks, who gained 69 total yards and a touchdown, and Rudy Watts, who gained 121 total yards and a touchdown. Watts didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended one pass.

Beckville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Union Grove to a completion percentage of just 31.2%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players: Coy Stephens, Hicks, Watts, and Timothy Wilcots, who each logged one passes deflected. The last time Beckville's completion percentage was this high was back in September.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-10, which was the final score in Ore City's tilt against Harleton on Friday.

Ore City's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Beckville, their record now sits at 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Beckville against Ore City in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 60-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bearcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
