Basketball Game Preview: Ramona Rams vs. Whittier Cardinals

Two dominant forwards in Troy Terrell and Brandon Romo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Ramona Rams will square off against the Whittier Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ramona knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 games -- so hopefully Whittier likes a good challenge.

Ramona is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Santa Paula by a score of 64-53.

Meanwhile, Whittier had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past the Patriots 80-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Cardinals have posted since December 6, 2024.

Whittier had a senior duo take command as Christopher Heape posted ten points in addition to seven steals and six assists and Romo earned 17 points and seven boards. Romo's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Noor Moustafa, who had ten points and five rebounds.

Ramona has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points over those games. As for Whittier, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.

Ramona came up short against Whittier when the teams last played back in December of 2018, falling 58-54. Can Ramona avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
