It was a good run, but Bauxite unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against the Woodlawn Bears, falling 11-5. The Miners were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bauxite saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drake Pettus, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another was Ethan Kelley, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Bauxite's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Woodlawn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bauxite will venture away from home to take on Malvern at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodlawn, they will square off against Gurdon at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
