Baseball Recap: Barberton Comes Up Short

Barberton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Tallmadge Blue Devils. That's two games in a row now that the Magics have lost by just one run.

John Kefalos led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Trent Dewitt also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Barberton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Tallmadge, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barberton will host Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tallmadge, they will be playing at home against Aurora at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Greenmen have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
