Volleyball Game Preview: West Shamokin Wolves vs. River Valley Panthers

West Shamokin has gone a perfect 3-0 against River Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. West Shamokin will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, West Shamokin got the win against Portage by a conclusive 3-0.

West Shamokin never let Portage on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-14, 25-15.

Meanwhile, River Valley came up short against Cambria Heights on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Highlanders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While River Valley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-28, 25-19, 25-20.

West Shamokin's win bumped their record up to 11-1-1. As for River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Everything went West Shamokin's way against River Valley in their previous meeting back in September, as West Shamokin made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
