Della Sandoval was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Liberty Charter came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Legionnaires. Considering the Lions have won four games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Angie Carreon was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Julia Peterson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Liberty Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.2.
Liberty Charter's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Ocean View Christian, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Ocean View Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's match. The Patriots have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 12.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Liberty Charter, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Ocean View Christian continue to outrun the ball?
