Basketball Recap: Whitewater Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Whitewater challenged Fayette County on Wednesday. The Whitewater Wildcats received a blow as they fell 54-38 to the Fayette County Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Jackson Rutley was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten boards for Fayette County. The contest was Rutley's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Perry, who posted seven points along with 11 rebounds and five assists.

Whitewater now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Fayette County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Whitewater does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fayette County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-49 loss against Troup County on the 7th.
