Flag Football Recap: Jaylene Sangenito and Taliyah Miller Pace Centennial Defense

After a string of three wins, Centennial's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 6-0 to the Mission Viejo Diablos. The game marked the first time this season in which the Huskies were not able to get on the board.

Even if they lost, Centennial's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jaylene Sangenito and Taliyah Miller, who racked up four sacks between them. Sangenito also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

Centennial now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Mission Viejo, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Centennial will square off against rival Santiago at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant s against one another: Sangenito and Brooklyn Binder. Meanwhile, Mission Viejo is set to take on their familiar foe San Juan Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Diablos 13, the Stallions 14.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
