Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Culbertson

While Culbertson didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Bainville Bulldogs by a score of 47-35 on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Cowboys as they're now sitting on three straight.

Culbertson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Plenny Williams, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. Those five boards gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Kirkaldie, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Culbertson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Bainville, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Culbertson has already played their next game, a 70-42 victory against MonDak [Westby/Grenora] on the 18th. Bainville has also already played their next contest (against Brockton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
