Football Game Preview: Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family vs. Elba

On Friday Elba take on Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family at 7:00 PM. Elba are limping into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Elba took a serious blow against Santee last Thursday, falling 31-66. The defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of senior Brody Buckendahl, who snatched 3 receiving TDs and picked up 67 yards on the ground, and freshman Devin Weddle, who threw 3 TDs and picked up 44 yards on the ground. Buckendahl has been a consistent playmaker for Elba as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.

As for Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family had a rough outing against Spalding Academy two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family were able to grind out a solid victory over Walthill, winning 51-37.

Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family's win lifted them to 3-2 while Elba's loss dropped them down to 0-5. In their win, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family relied heavily on senior Dylan Hanzel, who threw 5 TDs and picked up 75 yards on the ground. Elba will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
