Basketball Recap: St. Georges Tech Now 12-3 over Last 15 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but St. Georges Tech had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They snuck past the William Penn Colonials with a 43-39 win. The 43-point effort marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

St. Georges Tech's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Obiora, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 17 points and seven rebounds. Obiora's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emory Womack, who posted eight points and six assists.

St. Georges Tech is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. William Penn's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-9.

St. Georges Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-51 win against Smyrna on the 2nd. William Penn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
