Football Game Preview: Rockingham County Cougars vs. Reidsville Rams + How To Watch

Rockingham County hasn't had much luck against Reidsville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Rams at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, Rockingham County and Walkertown finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Reidsville won against Walkertown last Friday with 44 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Rams blew past Carver, posting a 44-8 win. The contest marked the Rams' most dominant victory of the season.

Reidsville found their leader in sophomore Savvion Johnson, who picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Reidsville's defense and their 4.5 sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Johnson, Anthone Peele, and Kesean Henry, who each picked up one sack apiece. Johnson was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The win was the third in a row for Reidsville, bringing their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.7 points over those games. With that draw, Rockingham County's record moves to 2-3-1.

Rockingham County took a serious blow against Reidsville in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 50-7. Thankfully for the Cougars, Jariel Cobb (who rushed for 243 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
