Softball Recap: Sprague Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wilsonville, Sprague was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They skirted past the Central Panthers 5-4.

Shayla Qualls spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Brenna Morris was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Sprague's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Sprague and Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. The Olympians will face off against Tualatin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (123 vs. 26). Meanwhile, Central (ranked 88th) will meet Dallas (ranked 35th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
