Basketball Recap: Tyro Christian Takes a Loss

Tyro Christian was the 38-21 winner over Newton HomeSchool when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tyro Christian Eagles took a hard 44-30 fall against the Newton HomeSchool Panthers on Saturday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newton HomeSchool got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rachel Graham out in front who posted 16 points and six boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Graham has scored at least a third of Newton HomeSchool's points. Chloe Hoelscher was another key player, going 7-for-11 on her way to 14 points.

Tyro Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Newton HomeSchool, they moved to 11-10 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Tyro Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newton HomeSchool, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-37 win against Flint Hills Christian on the 1st.
