Basketball Game Preview: St. Cloud Tech Tigers vs. Brainerd Warriors

St. Cloud Tech is 0-10 against Brainerd since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The St. Cloud Tech Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Brainerd Warriors at 7:15 p.m. One thing working in St. Cloud Tech's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

St. Cloud Tech is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Alexandria on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. St. Cloud Tech was dealt a 112-55 loss at the hands of Alexandria. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Cardinals are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, Brainerd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Alexandria, falling 77-45. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Brainerd's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for St. Cloud Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

St. Cloud Tech was dealt a bruising 86-41 loss at the hands of Brainerd in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can St. Cloud Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
