Basketball Game Preview: Manatee Hurricanes vs. Poinciana Christian Preparatory Eagles

The Manatee Hurricanes and the Poinciana Christian Preparatory Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Manatee has given up an average of 62.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Manatee came up short against Southeast and fell 63-50. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Poinciana Christian Preparatory waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Lions 68-46. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Lions are ranked 304th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Manatee's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Poinciana Christian Preparatory, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
