Baseball Recap: Berlin Brothersvalley Takes a Loss

Berlin Brothersvalley extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-8 in the process. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blacklick Valley Vikings. If the Mountaineers were looking for revenge after losing 8-3 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brady Janidlo was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Cohen Clark was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Blacklick Valley, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Blacklick Valley's side, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Boring, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Boring a new career-high. Another was Collin Nedrich, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berlin Brothersvalley will head out to face off against North Star at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blacklick Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Turkeyfoot Valley Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
