Volleyball Recap: Grand Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Grand Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Olathe Pirates. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-13, 25-16.

Taylor Pittman paced Grand Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Pittman got some help from Kyleigh Hernandez and her five assists. Finally, Kylene Mascioli kept Grand Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Grand Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Olathe, their win ended a six-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-12.

Grand Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Gunnison on the 10th. As for Olathe, they will head out to challenge Roaring Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
