Basketball Game Preview: Howland Tigers vs. Alliance Aviators

The Howland Tigers will head out to challenge the Alliance Aviators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Howland is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Howland came up short against Chaney and fell 55-43. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Cowboys are ranked 141st).

Howland might have lost, but man, Anthony Chieffo was a machine: he went 6-for-9 en route to 17 points. Howland is 2-1 when Chieffo posts 15 or more points, but 6-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Steven Bubon, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Alliance beat Canfield 64-60 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aviators.

Alliance's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Howland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
