Football Recap: Harrisburg Piles Up the Points Against Carlisle

Harrisburg strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They really took it to the Carlisle Thundering Herd for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 victory. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Thundering Herd are ranked 410th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harrisburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elias Coke led the charge by picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 40 yards and one touchdown. Another rusher making a difference was Princeton Dent, who rushed for 68 yards and a pair of TDs.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Harrisburg's defense and their six sacks. In that department, Noah Ewell was the leader with two. He has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 19 times he's played. Another thorn in Carlisle's side was Kayson Judge, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made four total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Harrisburg's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Carlisle, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
