Baseball Recap: Hermitage Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tuscumbia on Tuesday, Hermitage came back down to earth. The Hornets came up short against the Wheatland Mules on Wednesday, falling 10-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mules this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 back in April.

Hermitage has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Wheatland, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 31-4.

Hermitage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-5 win against Stoutland on the 21st. As for Wheatland, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lakeland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mules 3, the Vikings 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
