Baseball Game Preview: Mount St. Joseph Gaels vs. McDonogh Eagles

For the second straight game, Mount St. Joseph will face off against McDonogh. The Gaels will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mount St. Joseph will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Mount St. Joseph had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt McDonogh on Monday. The Gaels blew past the Eagles 11-1. The Gaels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Mount St. Joseph got a great performance from Peyton Wholey as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Chase Nemec was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Bodensiek, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

McDonogh's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Mount St. Joseph, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
