Softball Recap: Fontainebleau Comes Up Short

Fontainebleau was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Albany Hornets. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.

Fontainebleau's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Albany, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Fontainebleau will venture away from home to challenge Covington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Covington's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Fontainebleau's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Albany, they will welcome Ponchatoula at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ponchatoula is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
