Volleyball Recap: Coxsackie-Athens' Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Coxsackie-Athens entered their matchup against Voorheesville on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Coxsackie-Athens Riverhawks fell just short of the Voorheesville Blackbirds by a score of 3-2. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Riverhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in December of 2024.

Coxsackie-Athens' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Voorheesville, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coxsackie-Athens has already played their next contest (against Greenville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Voorheesville will take on Cobleskill-Richmondville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
