Soccer Recap: Montevallo Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montevallo). Their defense stepped up to hand the Sipsey Valley Bears an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. Zabdy Perez was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

The victory (which was Montevallo's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matchups. As for Sipsey Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Montevallo will head out to challenge Minor at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sipsey Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sipsey Valley will be up against Central's rather soft defense (which has allowed 8.5 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
