Basketball Recap: South Caldwell Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for South Caldwell, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Watauga Pioneers by a score of 76-64 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Watauga's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josiah Railey, who went 7 of 13 en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The contest was Railey's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jackson Love was another key player, putting up 18 points.

South Caldwell's record now sits at 10-4. As for Watauga, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

South Caldwell will head out to take on Freedom at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Watauga, they will host Asheville Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Watauga's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
