Football Recap: Branson/Kim Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After soaring to 40 points the game before, Branson/Kim was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They had to suffer through a 47-7 loss at the hands of the Granada Bobcats. The loss continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost seven in a row.

Branson/Kim's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Will Doherty, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one touchdown, and Cooper Winter, who threw for 111 yards and one TD. Doherty was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 65 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granada to victory, but perhaps none more so than Angelo Martinez, who threw for 158 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Martinez also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass. Fernando Cadena was another key player, gaining 141 total yards and two touchdowns.

Branson/Kim's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Granada, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Branson/Kim and Granada will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bearcats will take on rival Cotopaxi at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Granada is set to square off against their familiar foe Cheraw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
