Basketball Recap: Bridgeton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Bridgeton had lost five straight headed into Saturday's match, but Jameell Purnell didn't let it get to six. The Bridgeton Bulldogs came out on top against the Woodstown Wolverines by a score of 63-51 on Saturday thanks in part to Purnell, who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 34 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Bridgeton's points.

Bridgeton's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Woodstown, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Bridgeton has already played their next contest (against Atlantic City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Woodstown will challenge Pennsville Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
