Basketball Recap: Barr-Reeve Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Barr-Reeve came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Shoals Jug Rox 53-21. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Jug Rox are ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Barr-Reeve had a senior duo take command as Seth Wagler went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Landon Miller went 6 for 13 en route to 14 points and six boards. Wagler has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Braxton Neidigh was another key player, putting up seven points.

Barr-Reeve was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Barr-Reeve pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Shoals, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Barr-Reeve will venture away from home to face off against Jasper at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shoals, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-25 loss against South Knox on the 1st.
