Recap: El Dorado Christian Buffalos vs. Heartland Mustangs
The El Dorado Christian Buffalos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They lost to Heartland at home by a decisive 44-26 margin. El Dorado Christian has not had much luck with Heartland recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Buffalos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was McKenzie Cole, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Breann Reasoner was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Leading Heartland to victory were Esther Archibald and Elizabeth Archibald. Archibald scored 17 points, while Archibald scored 19 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Archibald has scored at least a third of Heartland's points.
El Dorado Christian's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Heartland, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
El Dorado Christian and Overland Christian will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully El Dorado Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Monday. Heartland is on the road again on Thursday and plays Plaza Heights Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Plaza Heights Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
