Softball Recap: Newton-Conover Comes Up Short

Newton-Conover came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-3 to the West Caldwell Warriors. The Red Devils have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Newton-Conover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. McKenzie Patton was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Newton-Conover now has a losing record of 1-2. As for West Caldwell, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Newton-Conover has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 win against Statesville on the 6th. As for West Caldwell, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 victory against Patton on the 6th.
