Volleyball Recap: Tokay Tigers vs. Chavez Titans

Tokay lost against Chavez back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers fell just short of the Titans by a score of 3-2. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 25-14 in the first set.

Tokay actually scored more points across those five sets (100-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-18, 25-21, 14-25, 15-11.

Ralph Doria paced Tokay's offense, picking up 23 kills. Doria got some help from Rian Dimalanta and his 42 assists. Finally, Noah Sears kept Tokay's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Chavez was led to victory by Brandon Nonnarath and Teagan Yem. Nonnarath had 25 digs and 11 kills, while Yem had 26 digs and ten kills. That's the most kills Yem has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Vang, who had 19 digs.

Tokay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Chavez, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.

Tokay has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Edison on the 14th. As for Chavez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Bear Creek on the 14th.
