Basketball Game Preview: Vicksburg Bulldogs vs. Marshall Redhawks

The Vicksburg Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Marshall Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vicksburg will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Vicksburg saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They walked away with a 46-33 win over Harper Creek. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Beavers are ranked 339th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Marshall waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 57-30 victory over the Wildcats. The Redhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Marshall pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Vicksburg, their victory bumped their record up to 21-2.

Vicksburg took their win against Marshall when the teams last played back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 53-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vicksburg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
