Basketball Recap: Cardinal Mooney Takes a Loss

Cardinal Mooney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 41-33 to the Austintown-Fitch Falcons. The matchup marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Austintown-Fitch got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carter Owens out in front who posted eight points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Giles, who had nine points and eight rebounds.

Cardinal Mooney's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Austintown-Fitch, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardinal Mooney will take on East at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Austintown-Fitch, they will face off against Howland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
