Softball Recap: National Trail Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

National Trail won against New Miami on Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Blazers didn't even let the Belmont Bison on the board, marking the Blazers' second-straight 12-0 shutout. With that victory, the Blazers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Katie Wyatt looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Taylor Reynolds was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Carley Hamm was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

National Trail's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14. As for Belmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-3.

National Trail didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-10 loss against Ansonia on the 13th. As for Belmont, they will face off against Tippecanoe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bison's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
