Soccer Game Preview: Making Waves Academy vs. Urban

The Making Waves Academy Marlins are taking a road trip to challenge the Urban Blues at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Making Waves Academy's offense. They fell just short of Marin Academy by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Urban also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Lick-Wilmerding on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Urban can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Lick-Wilmerding are ranked 146th).

Urban's loss dropped their record down to 11-3-2. As for Making Waves Academy, they now have a losing record of 6-7-3.

Making Waves Academy might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Urban in their previous meeting back in January. Can the Marlins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
