Red Mountain came tearing into  Thursday's  contest with five straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mesa Jackrabbits  a   21-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  14-0  last Tuesday.
 Kendall Cochran was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  doubles, one  run,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since April 1st.
 In other batting news, Red Mountain let  Saige Peters and  Payton Westra run wild. Peters  went a perfect 3-for-3 with four  runs, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base, while  Westra  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Westra has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  home run the last four times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nina Montenegro, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Red Mountain was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .690. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .320 or higher in six consecutive  matchups.
Red Mountain pushed their record up to 18-4-1 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mesa,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-13.
 Red Mountain didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  16-0  win against Corona del Sol on the 3rd. As for Mesa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  contest,  an  18-3  defeat against Tolleson on the 28th.
