Thompson Valley won the last time they faced Fort Morgan and things went their way  on Friday too. The Eagles really took it to the Mustangs for the full four quarters, racking up  a  45-14 win. With the Eagles ahead  24-0 at the half, the  game was all but over already.
Thompson Valley got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Tristin Hill out in front who rushed for 171 yards and a pair of  scores while picking up 10.7 yards per carry. Those  171  rushing yards gave  Hill a new career-high.  Finley Lucas also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thompson Valley was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 404  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Despite the loss, Fort Morgan still got an impressive performance from   Ben Fritzler, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one  TD, and also rushed for 135 yards.  Jj Marquez was another key player, throwing for 219 yards and a pair of  touchdowns.
Thompson Valley pushed their record up to 7-1 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Fort Morgan,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 2-6.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Thompson Valley will  challenge  rival Roosevelt  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,006 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Fort Morgan is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Pomona  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
