Volleyball Recap: Zeigler-Royalton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Zeigler-Royalton had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Century Centurions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tornadoes have posted against the Centurions since September 17, 2022.

Zeigler-Royalton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-20, 15-7.

Century lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Hayden Anderson, who had 14 digs and five aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Baylea Crain, who had 16 digs.

The victory got Zeigler-Royalton back to even at 7-7. As for Century, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Zeigler-Royalton and Century will both be playing Elverado the next time they take the court. The Centurions will host the Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Tornadoes will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
