Recap: St. Pauls Bulldogs vs. Clinton Dark Horses
Make it eight blowout wins for the St. Pauls Bulldogs this season. They breezed by Clinton at home to the tune of 73-35. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-16.
St. Pauls was led to victory by Jashontae Harris and Zhariana Shipman. Harris scored 16 points along with four steals, while Shipman scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shipman has scored all season. Ava Monroe was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Several Dark Horses players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ava Williford, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Jianna Pickett, who scored nine points.
St. Pauls pushed their record up to 10-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Clinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
St. Pauls will head out on the road to square off against Midway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clinton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against James Kenan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
