Softball Recap: Fayetteville-Perry Wins Going Away Against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington

Fayetteville-Perry had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on Friday. The Rockets were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Blue Jays. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Rockets this season.

Victoria Thompson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lilly Carlier was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played. Chloe Cox was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Fayetteville-Perry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
