Baseball Game Preview: Oberlin Phoenix vs. Columbia Raiders

Oberlin is 1-9 against Columbia since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Phoenix will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Oberlin is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Clearview, falling 13-6.

Oberlin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Walter, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Jackson Cikalo was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Columbia's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 13-2 to Keystone. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Oberlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Oberlin beat Columbia 8-4 when the teams last played last Saturday. Will the Phoenix repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
