Basketball Recap: Canton Takes a Loss

Canton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 65-32 loss at the hands of the Towanda Black Knights. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Canton lost, don't look at Ben Fitch. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 65.6% of Canton's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Towanda, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Canton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-52 win against Williamson on the 27th. Towanda has also already played their next contest, a 59-36 loss against North Penn-Mansfield on the 27th.
