Baseball Game Preview: Neuqua Valley Wildcats vs. Metea Valley Mustangs

For the second straight game, Neuqua Valley will face off against Metea Valley. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Neuqua Valley and Metea Valley, and Neuqua Valley kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats skirted past the Mustangs 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Mustangs since May 26, 2022.

Neuqua Valley got a great performance from Jack Martin as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Owen Shannon was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Mike Langan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Metea Valley's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Neuqua Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8-1.
