Basketball Recap: Woodlawn Cardinals vs. Pinckneyville Panthers        
        
		
             After flying high against Cairo  last Wednesday, Woodlawn came back down to earth. The Woodlawn Cardinals took  a  47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pinckneyville Panthers on Friday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in December of 2022.
 Despite the  defeat, Woodlawn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Sophia Skinner  went 9 for 12 en route to 22 points plus five  rebounds. What's more,  Skinner also posted a 75%  field goal percentage, which is the highest she's  posted since back in December of 2023.  Andrea Kibler was another key player,  posting eight points along with three  steals.
 Woodlawn now  has a losing record at 1-2. As for Pinckneyville, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
 Woodlawn and Christopher will face off  at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Pinckneyville, they will welcome Massac County  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
