Softball Recap: Conemaugh Township Comes Up Short

Conemaugh Township had lost 14 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-11 to make it 15. They came up short against the Northern Cambria Colts, falling 12-1. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 17-0 to the Colts when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Northern Cambria, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

For Northern Cambria's part, the team relied heavily on Alexa Fox, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Fox has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Rylee Hassen also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Coming up, Northern Cambria will host Penns Manor at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Conemaugh Township will be paying especially close attention to the Colts' game: after the Colts face off against the Comets, they'll take on Conemaugh Township again at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
