Baseball Recap: Christ's Church Academy Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Christ's Church Academy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Madison County, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. The Eagles put the hurt on the Cowboys with a sharp 8-1 win on Tuesday. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th.

Josh Stembridge looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Christ's Church Academy let Jackson Vennard and Shawn Robinson run wild. Vennard scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Robinson scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Christ's Church Academy is 6-1 when Robinson posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

Christ's Church Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Madison County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Christ's Church Academy will take on Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Golden Eagles at the right time seeing as the Golden Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Madison County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rickards at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.33 runs per game on average), something the Cowboys will no doubt try to take advantage of.
