            Football Recap: Delta Rabbits vs. Emery Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Delta and Emery pushed the score to  55-21 the last time they played Emery, but  on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Rabbits were just a  hair shy of victory  and fell  7-6 to the Spartans. Having soared to a lofty 42  points in the game before, the Rabbits couldn't push the score so high this time.
When it comes to explaining why Delta lost, don't look at  Jett Rawlinson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 265 yards and one  score while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Rawlinson showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards.

 Even if they lost, Delta's defense still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. Emery's QB  won't forget  Drake Quackenbush anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Quackenbush also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with 14. Delta got some further help from  Carter Anderson: he picked up  a  sack and made 13 total tackles.
Delta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Emery, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
 Delta and Emery will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next  games. The next time the Rabbits see the field they'll take on South Sevier  at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 31st. As for Emery, their break will end when they face Summit Academy  at 4:00  p.m.  on  the 31st.
