Softball Recap: Puyallup Starts Season with Win on the Road

Puyallup had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lake Washington Kangaroos on Wednesday, sneaking past 17-15.

Sophia Wright was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Paisley Jamison was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Puyallup hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Washington struck out nine times.

Looking ahead, Puyallup will challenge Sumner at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Puyallup their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Lake Washington, they will take on Shorewood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
